SHORT BIO

Sasha Klare-Ayvazian, performing as Sasha K.A, is an indie-folk songwriter, string arranger, and music educator based in Western Massachusetts. An Oberlin College graduate with a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin, he connects the stage, studio, and classroom. His releases include the 2020 debut album, Family, and the 2026 EP, On A Wire. His songs have appeared in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint and a Food Basics campaign. He performs solo and with ensembles, creates custom string arrangements, and offers school visits, workshops, and residencies.

EXTENDED BIO

Raised in Western Massachusetts, Sasha Klare-Ayvazian grew up surrounded by acoustic guitars, protests, and tall trees. He studied Music Theory at Oberlin College, then taught music and directed band and choir at New Hingham Elementary in Chesterfield, Massachusetts.

In 2014 he moved to Austin to pursue a Master of Music in Music Education at the University of Texas. In Austin, he formed the indie-folk group American Dreamer with his wife Courtney on cello. The ensemble combines guitar, violin, cello, and upright bass. American Dreamer was selected for the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster, 2018-2022, received a Sonic Guild grant in 2021, and performed at Old Settler's Music Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival, and Fischer Fest.

His six-song EP, On A Wire, was released on March 19, 2026. His solo debut, Family, was released in 2020 and received coverage from Americana Highways, The Bluegrass Situation, KUTX, and Elmore Magazine. His songs have appeared in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint and a Food Basics campaign.

His teaching experience also includes directing the Jazz Ensemble at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. In 2022, Sasha returned to Western Massachusetts to be close to family and start the music program at Rise Preparatory Academy in Springfield. His New England appearances include Green River Festival, Back Porch Festival, Sunflower Festival, Lenox Loves Music, and Summer On Strong.
